- Numbing Ointments: Consult with us before using any numbing ointments as some can be harmful.
Consideration:
Remember, a tattoo is permanent, so think carefully about your decision.
Aftercare Instructions for Your New Tattoo
Initial Protection:
Second Skin Plastic: Leave on for at least 3 days, preferably longer.
- Regular Plastic Wrap: Remove the same day, upon arriving home and before bed.
Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Remove plastic wrap and wash the tattoo with lukewarm water and mild soap.
- Use clean bedding.
- Wash the tattoo again with mild soap and water in the morning.
- Apply a thin layer of lotion (e.g., Hustle Butter or Bepanthen) 2-3 times a day when the tattoo feels dry.
Monitor for Issues:
- Contact us if the tattoo is sore, hurts, red, or oozing after 4-5 days.
- Remember, you are responsible for the aftercare of your tattoo. Take the process seriously.
General Care:
- Your new tattoo is a healing wound; handle it with care.
- Always wash your hands before touching your tattoo.
Sun Protection:
- Always apply sunscreen to your tattoos when exposed to the sun.
Avoid Damage:
- Do not pick or scratch the scabs to prevent losing ink.
- Avoid touching the tattoo unnecessarily.
- Avoid baths, solariums, saunas, and intense exercise for about 2 weeks.
Healing Timeline:
- Scabs typically come off in about 2 weeks.
- Complete healing takes about a month.
